And sugar cookies in general.

No Fail Sugar Cookies

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 5 dozen 3" cookies
Course: Dessert

Ingredients

  • 6 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups white, granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract or desired flavoring, almond perhaps?
  • 1 teaspoons salt

Method

  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well. mix dry ingredients and add a little at a time to butter mixture. Mix until flour is incorporated and the dough comes together.
  • Chill for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Roll to desired thickness {spacers help A LOT} and cut into desired shapes. Bake on a Sil-Pat lined baking sheet at 350 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes or until just beginning to turn brown around the edges.

Notes

I usually make a half batch of this dough and get about 2 to 3 dozen cookies, depending on the shapes/sizes of the cookie cutter.

  1. I have the same recipe and it is the only one I will use. I tried so many and was about to give up until I saw this recipe on Cake Central. I actually just made some cookies yesterday and froze them. I will decorate them in a couple days.
