Happy Easter weekend! It’s Tessa here, from over at tessacotton – and I’m excited to share with you a happy little spring mani. I don’t know about you, but it’s freezing where I am! It feels like this winter is never going to end. I’m sure I’ll be complaining about the heat soon enough, but I am just so over this cold weather.
One way I’m beating the neverending-winter-blues is by pretending it’s spring regardless of what the weather app on my phone says. I broke out some sundresses this week (with tights, boots and a really thick sweater, ha!) and created this manicure that’s perfect for some pastel inspired dreams of warmer weather.
This spring fling mani doesn’t need anything fancy, just three favorite contrasting colors, a steady hand, and a little patience. I used Sinful Colors “24-7” for my base coat, Ulta “Bam-Blue-Zled” for the blue stripe, and Essie “Navigate Her” for the final green stripe.
It’s really pretty simple:
-Two coats base colors (pink), let dry
-One coat (blue) on center 1/2 of nail, let dry
-Carefully, with sparse amount of polish on brush, paint a think stripe of third color (green) down center of nail.
These pictures were taken pre-top coat, but I recommend one to seal in the colors. It definitely added smoothness and longevity to this mani for me!
My Easter dress is a simple yellow this year, and I’m looking forward to pairing it with these fun and bright nails. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and that Spring gets here soon for all of us!
If you recreate this look (or anything inspired by it) I’d love to see! Drop me a line or send me a pic over at my twitter or my instagram. Happy Easter!
