Sweet and Spicy Bacon-Wrapped Smokies

  • 1 package beef Smokies
  • 1 1/2 packages bacon sliced in half
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder


  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. In a small bowl combine brown sugar, cumin, and chili powder; set aside.
  3. Wrap one piece on bacon (half a slice) around one Smokie and secure with a toothpick. Repeate for remaining Smokies and bacon until all Smokies are wrapped.
  4. Place Smokies in a 9″ x 13″ baking dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar mixture.
  5. Bake for 1 hour.
  6. Serve immediately, or put Smokies into a crock pot, pour pan juices over the top, and keep covered on WARM setting.
  7. Eat, die, and go to heaven. Seriously.
