I have a rule that I don’t start getting into a holiday until the month it’s in…unless it’s New Year’s…that gets the week after Christmas. But I’m getting this out of the way so I don’t have to deal with it anymore. 🙂
I’m not really all that into Valentine’s Day. I’ve been at work for so many years on February 14th, waiting on couples and groups of couples, that I’d rather get the cash than get all mushy. Now that I’m home instead of working, I’m still not a V-Day girl. I don’t want a gifts or anything. It’s just a card holiday to me. And I wear black that day instead of red, ha!
When I was little my mom would give me a Valentine’s Day card and something special…a gift, a sweet note, stuff like that. It made my day and it was fun to feel special an extra day of the year. I totally plan on doing something sweet for my boys each Valentine’s Day like my mom did for me. Making them feel special and the smile on their faces will be worth the effort.
For the pink and red lovers here are some fun ideas for Valentine’s Day I found and a recipe from me for your very own I Heart You Day.
