Ingredients
1/3Bauguette or Bolillios rolls
1tablespoonunsalted butter
2 to 3clovescrushed garlic
1/2Granny Smith apple
2ouncesBrie
3slicesButterball Turkey Bacon
Spring greensoptional {I didn’t have any in the house, but the original sandwich had them, and YUM!}
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. When butter is almost melted, add garlic. Stir to combine.
Slice bread in half horizontally, brush garlic butter over the cut side of each half. Place bread, cut side up on a baking sheet, and put into hot oven for 3 minutes.
Cut brie into thin slices. {I used a log style brie for easy slicing.} Remove bread from oven and layer bottom half of the sandwich with brie slices. Return to oven and bake for 5 minutes, or until the bread begins to crisp a little and brie is melty.
Cut your apple into thin slices after removing the core; set aside.
Place Butterball Turkey Bacon on a paper towel lined plate and cook for 5 second per slice (15 seconds). Remove from microwave.
Take bread out of the oven, and transfer to a cutting board. Layer brie with apple slices, and then bacon. Top bacon with greens if desired. Top sandwich with other half of the bread. Cut sandwich in half at an angle {for presentation points}. Serve immediately.
