Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 package OREO cookies finely crushed (36 cookies)
  • 2 bags Reese's Peanut Butter Chips regular peanut butter cannot be substituted

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese and cookie crumbs until blended.
  2. Portion Oreo mixture into tablespoon sized cookie balls onto waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Using your hands, roll each portion into a ball. Freeze for 10 minutes.
  3. Melt peanut butter chips in a double-boiler. Dip balls in melted peanut butter chips, being sure to leave some of the chocolate showing at the top for that Buckeye look.
  4. Place the cookie balls back onto the baking sheets. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.

Recipe Notes

The melted peanut butter likes to harden pretty quickly on the cold cookie balls. The easiest ways to coat the cookie balls is to stick a toothpick in the top center and roll the cookie ball in the peanut butter. OR place the cookie ball on a fork, hold the fork over the peanut butter bowl, and use a spoon to drizzle peanut butter around the sides. Tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to knock off excess peanut butter. Use a knife to slide the cookie ball off the fork.
