Tater Tot Casserole

We love going to our friends Rob and Treena’s house.  We end up over there at some point on every major holiday and for Ohio State football game day.  {It’s that time of year.  You’ll hearing more and more abotut he Buckeyes from me.}  Most of the time we end up doing a pot luck, but sometimes Treena make everything herself and we just snack on muchies all day.

Hanging out at their house reminds me of the way I always felt neighbors and communities should be.  As the day goes on, people come and go, but always stay long enough for a good chat.  Even though there’s a football game on, we all sit down around the kitchen table and enjoy each other’s company.  When someone gets up to check the score of the game or check on an AWOL child, another person will fill their spot and the conversation continues.    Everyone knows each other and we all help to look out for the smaller kids.

Last year, Treena made this yummy ground beef and tater tot dish.  I had to get the recipe from her since Mike had THREE helpings.  It’s so way to make and my boys love it!  Super easy to throw together and then you can sit back and have a glass of wine while everything cooks.  Bonterra Sauvignon Blanc?  Don’t mind if I do!
