Please tell me you’ve see Muppets Most Wanted! We hardly ever go to the movie theater anymore, but this movie is so freaking funny. A) I heart Ricky Gervais. B) It’s the Muppets. Who doesn’t love the Muppets? C) The boys know all the songs now. D) I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve watched this movie in the lat two weeks. It’s A LOT! To keep the fun going, I made some Muppets Most Wanted Cupcakes. Everyone got the pick their favorite character to eat. It was a blast!
So, if you haven’t seen the movie here’s the skinny. Constantine is the world’s most dangerous frog. He escapes a Siberian Gulag (see: prison), switches places with Kermit, fools everyone, pulls off some crazy heights with his #2 The Lemur (Ricky Gervais), tried to marry Miss Piggy, and Tina Fey sings A Chorus Line.
Otto sings and dances along every time this song comes on!
Constantine & Kermit
That’s right kids. There’s a wedding!
Muppets Most Wanted is available for purchase from Disney.com and comes in a Blue-ray Combo Pack with Digital HD on August 12th! This movie will get the whole family laughing and is sure to become a favorite for years to come. How many other times do you get to see Ray Liotta sing and dance? There are SO MANY cameos in Muppets Most Wanted, and we loved everyone. The bloopers real is a must watch too!

These cupcakes are super easy to make. The boys instantly knew who was who. Granted Ricky doesn’t wear a Lemur costume during the movie (okay, once), but he is in a white tux with black tie, so the swirl cupcakes totally fit. I just wished I had some bigger bling on hand for Miss Piggy, but I think she’ll live.

Muppets Most Wanted Cupcakes
Ingredients
- 18 vanilla cupcakes {homemade or store bought}
- 3 sticks 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter
- 6 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 6 tablespoons heavy cream
- Red food coloring {I used Americolor in Tulip Red}
- Green food coloring {I used Americolor in Leaf Green}
- Black food coloring {I used Wilton}
- 5 chocolate chips
- Silver or gold sprinkles dragees, or any kind of edible bling you like
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, beat together butter, heavy cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar until smooth. Continue to beat for another minute of medium-high to fluff up the frosting.
-
Divide frosting - 1/2 in one bowl, 1/4 in a second bowl, and the other 1/4 you can leave in the mixing bowl.
-
To the first bowl, with 1/2 the frosting, add a couple drops of green food coloring. Mix until the color is even though out the frosting. Add more green, if needed, until desired color is reached.
-
To the second bowl, add just a tiny bit of red food coloring. Mix until the color is even though out the frosting - you're looking for a light pink color. Add more red as needed, a little at a time, until your desired pink is reached.
-
Transfer the green and pink color of frosting to their own piping bags. {If you don't have piping bags on hand, you can use a ziploc bag too.} Cut the bottom off your piping bag (or one bottom corner off your ziploc bag), and carefully squeeze the frosting toward to opening.
-
For the white frosting, take a toothpick and spread a little black food coloring in a vertical line from the bottom of the bag up. Do this four times around the bag, making evenly spaced lines. Carefully add the white frosting to the bag, trying to get it as far down towards the bottom as you can. Cut off the bottom of the piping bag, and carefully squeeze the frosting down.
-
Frost 10 of the cupcakes with green frosting, frost 4 of the cupcakes with pink frosting, and the remaining four cupcakes with the black and white swirl frosting. {You may want to pipe a little of the white frosting on to a plate to make sure the swirling part is coming out before you pipe the cupcakes.}
-
Sprinkle the pink cup cakes with metallic sprinkles - Miss Piggy needs a little bling.
-
Add a chocolate chip, bottom facing out, to 5 of the green cupcakes to the lower right of one side - this makes Constantine's mole.
