So check it, one of my blog friends, Ashton from Something Swanky, just packed up her life and moved. Yeah. Craziness. I know we have moving/buying a house on our agenda this year, but still, that’s A LOT of work. So a group of us decided to throw Mrs. Swank a little virtual house warming party. Because that’s what friends do when you live far away. Kind of like Jen’s birthday party.
I’ve been wanting to make a cupcake milkshake for months now. I saw one on this post and became obsessed with the idea. After a recent visit to one of my fave local bakeries I knew it was time. This really is kind of the perfect moving dessert. All you need is a blender, a spoon, and a straw – glass optional. No digging around every box labeled “Kitchen” for hours to make the happiest shake ever.
You could make this milkshake with any flavor cupcake you want – the cupcake is the dominate shake flavor so choose wisely. I went with a Caramel Mocha cupcake: chocolate cake with chocolate chips topped with milk chocolate coffee buttercream, coffee toffee, and a caramel drizzle. Yeah. That sounds very Ashton to me, I mean bloggers need their coffee, right? And chocolate is every girls best friend. I had some Talenti Gelato left in my freezer, so I used it up. I totally love the Caramel Cookie Crunch. It went perfectly with this cupcake.
I hope you’re getting settled and loving your new place Ashton!

Mocha Cupcake Milkshake
Ingredients
- 1 cucpake {pick your favorite flavor}
- 2 heaping scoops vanilla ice cream {or any complimentary flavor}
- 2 tablespoons to 1/4 cup milk
- Cool Whip or Whipped Cream optional
- Sprinkles optional but why wouldn't you want sprinkles
Instructions
-
Add 2 tablespoons milk into a blender. Add ice cream and unwrapped cupcake.
-
Blend until smooth. Scrape down the sides of your blender to integrate everything - turn your blender off while yo scrape! If the milkshake is too thick, add more milk as needed - a couple tablespoons at a time.
