There are million things you can do with this creamy fruit. Bake it, grill it, mash it, slice it. Dips, garnishes, doughnut fillings, frostings, popsicles, face masks. Okay, let’s keep it on food people. How could you not love this versatile food? I’m a traditionalist. My favorite thing to use avocados for is in my Ham & Cheese Omelet and for Guacamole. Gotta feature the goods!

It’s the perfect bag to take shopping for my guacamole ingredients. There was no way I was going to dish and run…I’m so punny. So I today I’m sharing my family’s guacamole recipe. It’s a little different, just go with me on this one. I’ve used this recipe to convert many a non-guac liking friend to the light.

 

Guacamole

One Year Ago: Bacon-Wrapped Adobo Chicken & Potatoes

 

Lisa's Guacamole

Total Time 5 minutes
Servings 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 avocados cut in half, seeded and scooped out of the skin
  • 1 lime cut in half
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or more if you like it spicier
  • 1 cup cottage cheese

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together all ingredients until well combined. Adjust seasonings to taste if needed. Serve with tortilla chips.
