With a house full of boys that are all a bit picky on their favorite flavors, I wanted to whip up a couple different smoothies to make everyone happy. One constant in our house is chocolate. It’s always a crowd pleaser. So I knew that had to be a flavor in these smoothies. Enter Carnation Breakfast Essentials. It’s Mike’s favorite way to grab something filling before running off the work for the day, and the littles love helping me make a glass in the morning – it’s that easy. Better yet, there are 21 vitamins and minerals and 13 grams of protein in each glass. Love that! Whenever we go shopping at our local Safeway, the boys make sure to remind me if we need more Carnation Breakfast Essentials.

I went riffling around the kitchen for smoothie ingredients. We had a bunch of strawberries, some chocolate and honey & caramel frozen yogurt, Carnation Breakfast, and oatmeal. Those all sounded like great flavor combos. I grabbed the blender, thew a few goodies in and hit puree. I think they were a hit!

While I used Carnation Breakfast in Rich Milk Chocolate, it also comes in Classic French Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Strawberry Sensation, and a variety pack. You could totally substitute the strawberry and vanilla flavors in these two recipes for a flavor focused smoothie. You can get more recipe ideas on the Carnation Website Recipe Page and on Carnation’s Facebook page.
