Better Than…Cookie Dough Cheeseball

Yesterday was amazing!
The Buckeyes beat that state up north and all is right in the world.

Per the usual, we were at our friend Treena’s house.  You may remember Treena from her Tater Tot Casserole.  Well, she has another gem.  This is the most addicting, delicious, “Treena did you make the cheeseball? Please tell me you did.” party food ever!  I say it’s better than crack, but that seemed a little dark for Pinterest.  Today I give you what may be the best thing you’ll ever put in your mouth – Better Than…Cookie Dough Cheeseball!

Better Than...Cookie Dough Cheeseball
Prep time
Total time
Serves: 1 cheeseball
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 roll refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 2 cups pecans, choppped
  • Nilla Wafers
  1. Bring cream cheese, butter, and cookie dough to room temperature. DO NOT microwave to heat. Everything will get melty and you won’t be able to make a ball – not that I would know…
  2. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, butter and cookie dough until combined.
  3. Roll cookie dough ball in chopped pecans until coated on all sides. Store in refrigerator until ready to eat. Serve with regular or mini Nilla wafers.
You can substitute homemade egg-free cookie dough instead of store-bought refrigerated cookie dough. You will need 2 cups of homemade dough.

Did you notice the watermark in the corner?  I’m so excited to have an easy way to label my pictures now.  I have it made by Lisa at Hummingbird’s View for only $5!  She actually sent me 3 variations to make sure I had one I loved.  Tell her Julie sent you!

To eat raw cookie dough would be too great a health risk for the people I care about. Uncooked cookie dough contains raw egg and should not be consumed by itself or mixed with other ingredients.

I appreciate your concern Jennifer. There are lots of safe-to-eat raw cookie dough recipes out there that are egg free you could definitely substitute in this recipe if you’d like to try it. 🙂

For safety’s sake, in place of commercially made cookie dough, you could make it from scratch and leave out the eggs.
