Bacon Fluffernutter Puppy Chow

Getting mail if definitely one of my favorite things.  Blogging totally helps since there are frequently packages and letters showing up.  Last week we had a happy mail day! We were lucky enough to get a copy of Disney Super Buddies.  It’s an epic tail. Ha ha…get it? Tail.

Since my little super heroes work up quite the appetite saving the world, and mom, I thought the perfect way to celebrate watching this movie for the billionth time in the last week {I’m not kidding} would be to make some Puppy Chow.  It is the Super Buddies’ favorite dog food after all.

We’re are BIG super hero fans around here.  If you have a cape and are down with super hero rules, my kids probably think you’re the best thing since sliced bread.

But I couldn’t make just any old puppy chow. I’m talking Bacon Fluffernutter Puppy Chow.  Seriously, what puppy {or kid for that matter} doesn’t like peanut butter and bacon?

I decided I needed some marshmallow too! Marshmallow and peanut butter are just happiness and that’s what this recipe is about. Making you happy!

I was originally going to just make peanut butter puppy chow, but it is Bacon Month and I just just couldn’t help myself.  Think of it as Elvis Puppy Chow, without the banana.  It’s so good and peanut buttery and our dog Maggie was hanging out with me the whole time I was making it in the hopes of snacking stray pieces of bacon.

You can pick up your own copy of Disney Super Buddies August 27th in a Blu-Ray combo pack.

Which is kind of perfect – one for the house and one for the car or grandparent’s house!  You can connect with Disney Buddies on Facebook and Pinterest to get more ideas for making your favorite super hero smile.

Bacon Fluffernutter Puppy Chow
Prep time
Cook time
Total time
Serves: 16
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup Reese's peanut butter chips
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 8 cups rice Chex
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 to 5 slices bacon, cooked crispy and chopped
  1. In a large bowl, microwave peanut butter, peanut butter chips, butter, and marshmallow fluff for 45 seconds to 1 minute. {The fluff will puff up, watch it.} Mix together until the peanut butter chips are smooth, the marshmallow will still have little bits floating around, that's okay.
  2. Add the cereal to the bowl. Mix until well coated will a wooden spoon.
  3. Pour cereal into a gallon sized ziploc bag. Add powdered sugar and bacon. Seal bag. Shake until cereal is coated in sugar. {The bage will turn clear and you'll see a white-ish layer on the cereal.}
  4. Serve immediately or chill and serve when you're ready.
I would definitely add some mini marshmallows in too (1 cup) when you put everything into the bag to shake.

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Disney Super Buddies. I was provided compensation and a copy of the movie. All opinions are my own.

Haha.. this post made me laugh! I used to have a cape… it was from an old Halloween costume but Jim made me throw it away. He obviously was not supporting my good. This is another awesome recipe for Bacon Month!
